Electricity Distribution Companies in Pakistan
Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) supervises the electric distribution companies (DISCOs). These distribution companies are responsible for distribution of electricity in their respective allocated areas. All DISCOs buy electricity from PEPCO, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), and other private Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and sell it to their respective area customers. All companies are owned by the Government of Pakistan except K-Electric which was privatized.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) is an electric distribution company that supplies electricity to the districts of Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Jhang, Bhakkar, Toba Tek Singh, and Chiniot in Pakistan. This company generates electric power from water (hydro-electric power) and distributes it to 4.01 million consumers of the area. Faisalabad Electric Supply Company was founded in 1998.

The company was incorporated on 23 April 1998 and certificate for commencement of business was obtained on 1 July 1998 from
NEPRA under section 146(2) of Companies Ordinance 1984.

SEPCO (Sukkur Electric Power Company) has been formed by dividing HESCO, therefore the areas of operation that were entirely under the jurisdiction of HESCO have now been divided between the two DISCOs. SEPCO has been incorporated under the companies ordinance with the S.E.C.P on 23.11.2010. NEPRA has admitted SEPCO's application for consideration of grant of a Distribution License and published it in the news papers on 7th April 2011, for Public Hearings. NEPRA has allotted Registration No. LAD-35 to SEPCO and issued it the Distribution Licence No. 21 / DL/ 2011 on 18th August 2011.
